Fresh Start Decorators; Insured Painters with Health and Safety and Project Management

Fresh Start Decorators have a health and safety management system in place that contains over 14 sections; it covers all aspects of our trade. Please view the below for a better understanding of what we complete prior to our work

Fresh Start Decorators have an environmental and health and safety policy statement that is reviewed annually to ensure it remain affective. The policy and statement contains over 40 aspects ranging from responsibilities, controls, procedures and policies; which are all very important and have to be fully understood by our painters and decorators prior to being allowed to work onsite.
This section contains all documents from lead paint and asbestos procedures, induction and vehicle inspections to toolbox talks and traffic management plans. In total there is over 60 documents to ensure things run safe and smoothly.
As part of any companies health and safety, risk assessments are critical for keeping everyone safe. Although many general assessments remain the same, it is crucial to the safety of everyone they are understood and that individual assessments are completed at each new site; so that potential risks and hazards not identified in the general assessments are taken into account and procedure put into place where needed.
In this trade it is essential to have a good understanding about the chemicals and products we come into contact with. Fresh Start Decorators have coshh sheets on all products that are used by us. The sheets provide important information regarding what the products contain, how they maybe harmful, how they maybe hazardous to health and/or the environment, the clean up and emergency procedures; including other essential information.
From time to time Fresh Start Decorators may need to outsource work such has having scaffolding erected for safe site access. Prior to hiring any company or person Fresh Start Decorators have procedures in place to ensure they have the required skills, certification and insurance. Only once passing the company approval system will they ever be allowed on our projects.
Prior to the use of any equipment it is essential that the correct certification and training has been done. To ensure that training and development runs smooth; details of any certification expiry is kept and documented. Assessments are carried out to ensure skills are kept up to date and review any additional training or refreshment that may be required; such as IPAF, asbestos awareness and work at height.
All resources; such as equipment and products required to complete work, is made readily available for the start of the project or dates scheduled for delivery of there requirement. Daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly or yearly checks, as in our health and safety management procedure is completed to ensure maintenance and safety is managed affectively.
